Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for February 1981 The Police Department handled 89 complaints and investigated 5 motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 59 traffic tickets and 24 parking tickets issued. There were eight felony complaints, three for grand larceny, two for burglary, two for criminal possession of a forged instrument, one attempted burglary. There were twenty -one misdemeanor complaints, seven for issuing bad checks, four for criminal mischief, four for aggravated harassment, two for petit larceny, two for criminal trespass, one for criminal possession of stolen property and one for reckless endangerment. Three persons were arrested for driving while intoxicated, and two persons were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. one juvenile was apprehended for petit larceny (shoplifting). Trustee Anderson, Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, Village Treasurer Gordon Wheeler and I have further discussed the proposed increase in street lighting costs and we recommend that the Board of Trustees authorize the recommended changes in the proposal distributed at the February Board meeting. Trustee Anderson and I will also take a further look at the street light distribution to try and move or eliminate some lights while we are making the changes and while it does not cost the Village to make these changes. There was a total of $3,333.10 in property reported lost or stolen and $529.10 in property was recovered by the Police Department.
