Report of Engineer
January 1981
SNOW REMOVAL
The extremely cold weather and frequent snow falls have made it necessary
to use more than the usual amount of salt and sand on the Village roads.
The entire $h500 budgeted for snow removal supplies has been spent, almost
entirely for salt. A different type of salt has been found to be available
at a much lower cost. It is found to be acceptable for ice removal, and
we are now using it.
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
A report has been received from Finger Lakes Diving Center on the inspec-
tion of the outfall pipes that are in Cayuga Lake. In general, the pipes
are in excellent condition. There is some indication of minor seepage from
the 16 -in. plastic outfall pipe approximately 15 feet from the outfall
chamber where we have installed a repair sleeve.
SICK LEAVE POLICY
The Public Works Committee has met and drafted a Statement of Policy on
sick leave. Further work on this statement and meeting with the Nblic
Works force is scheduled before presentation to the Board.
Report of Zoning Officer
January 1981
During the past month no zoning permits were issued and the Zoning Board
of Appeals has not met. Mr. Roger Branchini has met with the Zoning Officer
a number of times on the layout of a proposed office building on the Hill
property on East Upland Road. The proposed office building would meet all
zoning requirements; but, as of this date, no application for a building
permit has been received.
