Marcham Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for August 1980 The Police Department handled 110 complaints and investigated 7 motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 44 traffic tickets and 27 parking tickets issued. There were fourteen felony complaints, nine for burglary, two for criminal possession of a forged instrument, two for attempted burglary, and one for grand larceny. There were twenty -six misdemeanor complaints, six for issuing bad checks, six for criminal trespass, four for criminal mischief, four for aggravated harassment, two for reckless endangerment, and one for illegal possession of fireworks. Two persons were arrested for issuing bad checks and two persons were arrested for trespass. One juvenile was apprehended for illegal possession of fireworks and two juveniles were apprehended for disorderly conduct. The outbreak of residential burglaries during the month of August was disturbing, to say the least, and we have put forth an all out effort in an attempt to prevent further burglaries and to solve the ones already committed. The full -time officers worked a total of 84 hours overtime and the part -time officers worked a total of 110 hours during the month. 70' y7 There was a total of $25,948.47 in property reported lost or stolen and $13,250.07 in property was recovered by the police department.
