SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for July 1980
The Police Department handled 83 complaints and investigated 4 motor
vehicle accidents during the month. There were 81 traffic tickets and
15 parking tickets issued.
There were four felony complaints, one for burglary, two for criminal
possession of a forged instrument, and one for grand larceny of a motor
vehicle. There were seventeen misdemeanor complaints, five for petit
larceny, five for criminal mischief, three for issuing bad checks, one
each for criminal trespass, public lewdness, possession of weapons, and
falsely reporting an incident.
One person was arrested for issuing a bad check and one person was
arrested for driving while intoxicated. Three-juveniles were apprehended
for public lewdness, one juvenile was apprehended for unlawful possession
of a weapon, and three juveniles were apprehended for disorderly conduct.
There was a total of $2,849.00 in property reported lost or stolen during
the month and $3,347.48 in property was recovered by the Police Department.
The full -time officers worked 47 hours overtime during July and the part -
time officers worked 135 hours.
