George, Fire Chief RE: Report of the Fire Department for the month of July 1980 In July there were 9 General Alarms, 2 incident calls, and 9 rescue calls. On July 1st, at 12:34 p.m., the Department was called to 303 N. Sunset Dr. where power lines were down as the result of a storm. Thirteen men and 3 trucks responded. On July 3rd, at 3:07 p.m., the Department was called to the Warren farm because of a fire alarm malfunction. An interior fire alarm malfunction at BOCES building G called out the Department on July 11th. Ten men responded. No trucks were sent as a telephone call advised there was a false alarm. On July 14th, at 1:56 p.m., the Department was called to Cayuga Heights School because of an alarm malfunction. Nine men and 5 trucks responded. Four additional calls to Cayuga Heights School for alarm malfunctions were as follows: July 15th at 2:07 a.m.; 11:40 a.m.; and 10:11 p.m. Also on July 16th, at 7:37 P.m., 12 to 15 men and 4 trucks responded to each call. The trouble wan finally traced to a defective detector which was replaced. On July 22nd, at 5 :35 P.m. the Department was called to the corner of Midway Rd. and Klinewoods Rd. because of power lines down. Sixteen men and 4 trucks responded. The incident calls were: 1 to assist the police and 1 where a sewer had backed up into a house at 316 Winthrop Drive.
