RE: Report of the Fire Department for the month of March 1980
There were 10 General Alarms, 8 Incident Calls, and 5 First Aid calls.
On March 1st, at 2:46 a.m., the Department answered an alarm at Pyramid Mall.
A water main break set off the fire alarm. Four men and two trucks responded.
Also on March 1st, at 8:27 a.m., the Department was called to Pyramid Mall because
of an alarm malfunction.
A water main break set off the interior fire alarm at a fraternity at 306 Highland
Road on March 1st at 7:48 p.m. There was no fire. Eighteen men and 4 trucks
responded.
On March 13th, at 3:39 p.m., the Department was called to DeWitt School on an
accidental alarm. Two boys playing hit and set off the alarm. Twelve men and
two trucks responded.
The Department was called to an auto accident on Route 13 on March 13th at 6:00
p.m. Twenty men and two trucks responded.
On V8,rch 14, at 3:24 a.m., the Department was called to the Warren 7arm on an
alarm malfunction. Seventeen men and 3 trucks responded.
On March 14th, at 6:36 p.m., an alarm malfunction at Pyramid Mall called out the
Department. Fifteen men and two trucks responded.
On March 17th, at 2:05 p.m., the Department was requested to stand by at the Cayuga
Heights station for Lansing, as they were committed at a working house fire.
Eleven men stood by.
The Department was again called to the Warren Farm on March 17, at 7:24 p.m., be-
cause of an alarm malfunction. Twenty -two men and 3 trucks responded. A new
alarm system is being installed at the farm.
On March 21st, at 3:04 a.m., the Department was called to assist at an auto acci-
dent at Ridgewood Road and Wyckoff Road.
There were 13 Incident Cells as follows: flooding basements - 5; assist Police -1;
Smoke Investigation -2; First Aid calls -5.
