SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for December 1979
The Police Department handled 72 complaints and investigated 6 motor
vehicle accidents during the month. There were 55 traffic tickets and
16 parking tickets issued during the month.
There were four felony complaints, one for burglary, one for grand larceny,
one for criminal possession of stolen property and one for criminal possession
of a forged instrument. There were thirty misdemeanor complaints, nine
for petit larceny, eight for bad checks, five for criminal mischief,
four for criminal trespass, two for aggravated harassment, one for criminal
possession of stolen property and one for unauthorized use of a motor
vehicle.
Two persons were arrested for petit larceny, one person was arrested for
driving while intoxicated, one person was arrested for issuing a bad check,
and one person was arrested for criminal trespass 2nd degree. Three
juveniles were apprehended for school truancy and one juvenile was
apprehended for unauthorized use of motor vehicle.
There was a total of $4,099.52 in property reported lost or stolen during
the month and $1,245.00 in property was recovered by the Police Department.
The full -time officers worked 33 hours overtime during the month and the
part -time officers worked 8 hours.
