Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for October 1979 The Police Department handled 84 complaints and investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 72 traffic tickets and 36 parking tickets issued. There was one felony complaint for burglary. There were thirty -four misdemeanor complaints, seventeen for issuing bad checks, seven for petit larceny, five for criminal mischief, two for aggravated harassment, one for illegal possession of fireworks, one for illegal possession of a weapon, and one for reckless endangerment of a person. Three persons were arrested for Issuing Bad Checks, two persons arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, one person arrested for Grand Larceny 2nd for another Department, one person arrested for Reckless Endangerment 2nd, and one person arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Two juveniles were apprehended for Unlawful Possession of Fireworks and one juvenile was apprehended for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Trustee Allee and I attended a meeting at the Ithaca Common Council Chambers on October 22, 1979 at which time representatives of the Town of Ithaca and the City of Ithaca discussed the request of the City to increase its subsidy of the Youth Bureau activities. Supervisor Desch advised the City that it was not possible for the Town to increase its contribution 100% at this time but consideration would be given to the possible need for a significant increase in 1981. There was a total of 43,096.87 in property reported lost or stolen during the month and ,337.98 in property was recovered by the Police Department. The full -time officers worked 51 hours overtime during the month and the part -time officers worked 108 hours. Respectfully, Harlin R. McEwen Chief of Police HRM:bp
