RE: Report of the Fire Department for the month of September 1979.
There were 11 general alarms and 8 incident calls in the month of September 1979.
On Sept. 2nd, the Department was called to 310 Triphammer Rd. on an accidental
alarm. Eighteen men and 3 trucks responded.
On Sept 6th • at 5:33 P.m., the Department was called on mutual aid to send one
truck to Dryden to stand by while their department was entirely committed to
a working fire. Sixteen men and 1 truck responded.
A fire in the basement of 106 Cayuga Heights Rd, called out the Department at
7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7th. Twenty -three men and 3 trucks responded.
On Sept. 11th, at 10:38 a.m., an accidental alarm at BOCES called out the
Department. Twelve men and 3 trucks responded.
A car fire at Pleasant Grove Apartments was responsible for an alarm at 11:52 a.m.
on Sept. 11th. Fourteen men and two trucks responded.
On Sept. 12th, at 12:05 p.m., the Department was called to 108 Iroquois Road
because of an accidental alarm. Seven men and 2 trucks responded.
An accidental alarm called out the Department to Pyramid Mall on Sept. 16th
at 12:49 a.m. Thirteen men and 3 trucks responded.
On Sept. 21st, at 9:59 a.m., a clothes dryer fire called out the Department at
Hasbrouck Apts. Nine men and 3 trucks responded.
Also on Sept. 21st, at 1:25 p.m., the Department was called to 134 Simsbury Rd.
because of a broken hot water tank. Eight men and 1 truck responded.
A malicious false alarm was responsible for a mutual aid call to Pyramid Mall
on Sept. 23rd, at 3:00 p.m. Four men and 1 truck responded before the fire
dispatcher cancelled the fire call.
On Sept. 27th, the Department was called to 117 Boat St. because of a smoke odor.
Twenty men and 3 trucks responded.
The 8 incident calls were as follows: 4 - medical emergencies; 1 - animal in a
building; 1 - overheated furnace; 1 - smoke odor; 1 - gas odor.
