SUBJECT.. Report of the Police Chief for May 1979
The Police Department handled 75 complaints and investigated 7 motor
vehicle accidents during the month.
There were three felony complaints, one for burglary and two for grand
larceny. There were thirty -two misdemeanor complaints, nine for petit
larceny, seven for criminal mischief, six for bad checks, five for
criminal trespass, two for aggravated harassment, two for illegal possession
of fireworks, and one for reckless endangerment of person.
One person was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and five juveniles
were.apprehended during the month, three for curfew violation and two
for trespass.
I would like to recommend to the Board that they authorize raising the
part -time officers pay rate effective June 15, 1979 as follows;
Robert D. Day from $4.25 hr to $4.50 hr; David P. Barnes from $4.00 hr
to $4.25; and Dale A. Johnson from $4.00 hr to $4.25 hr.
I would also like permission to order various traffic signs which are
needed within the sign budget and new entrance signs for Sunset Park.
There was a total of $2,061.06 in property reported lost or stolen
during the month, and $349.35 in property recovered by the Police
Department.
The full -time officers worked a total of 28 hours overtime and the
part -time officers worked 79 hours during the month.
