George, Fire Chief RE: Report of Fire Department for the month of December 1978. There were 9 general alarms and 5 incident reports in December 1978. On December Ist, at 12:13 a.m., the Department responded to 709 Triphammer Road on a smoke odor complaint. Four trucks and 10 men responded. Also on December Ist, at 7:15 p.m., a car fire on Wyckoff Ave. called out the Department. Two trucks and 21 men responded. While Lansing Fire Department was committed at a working fire, our Department was requested to have one truck stand by at Cayuga Heights Station to be ready to re- spond to Lansing Village if there was an alarm. Ninoteen men stood by at the Cayuga Heights station. On December 4th, at 10:58 a.m., a false alarm at BOCES called out the Department. A small gasoline engine started up In a garage set off a smoke alarm. Four trucks and 15 man responded. A dryer fire at Winston Court Apartments was responsible for an alarm on Dec. 7th at 11:20 a.m. Four trucks and 13 men responded. On December 12th, at 8:40 a.m., the Department responded to a mutual aid call to the Chateau Claire Apts. for an electrical fire. One truck and 17 men responded. On December 13th, at 6:55 p.m., the Department was requested under mutual aid for a crew to stand by at Cayuga Heights station for a possible call to Ithaca while their Department was committed at a working fire. On December 14th, at 4:00 a.m., we were requested under mutual aid to send a crew and one truck to stand by at Lansing Station No. 5 while their Department was committed at a working fire. One truck and 13 men were on standby at the Lansing and Cayuga Heights stations. On December 28th, at 3:10 p.m., a workman attending to the interior fire alarm system at 108 Iroquois Road accidently shorted the alarm circuit which caused a false alarm. Four trucks and 19 men responded. There were five incident calls in December as follows: first aid calls - 3; assist Fblice - I; Investigation - 1.
