NEW YORK 14850 • TELEPHONE 607. 237.1011 February 20, 1979 Honorable Frederick G. Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights I respectfully submit the report of the activities of the Cayuga Heights Police Department for the Year 1978. The number of complaints handled by the Department decreased slightly this year, from 961 in 1977 to 896 in 1978. There was little change in the number of National Crime Reporting System index crimes reported, with there being 79 in 1977 and 82 in 1978.! The number of Driving While Intoxicated arrests dropped significantly from 32 in 1977 to 11 in 1978 and we hope that.thi's ig paiztly due to the strict vigilence on the part of our officers and also the prompt and efficient handling of these matters by the Village Justice. The number of juvenile cases increased from 35 in 1977 to 56 in 1978 and we hope this trend does not continue in the coming year. In conjunction with the Cayuga Heights Fire Department, we instituted a more comprehensive response for emergency medical cases, primarily with increased training and improved equipment for handling cardio pulmonary resuscitation emergencies. We continue to be aware of increasing coats for providing governmental services and,are attempting to provide the best'possible service at the lowest possible cost. The support and cooperation of the Mayor, Village Board, Village.Officers and Departmefits during the past year are appreciated. HRM:bp Res ectfully, Harlin R.
