SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for September 1978
The Police Department handled 88 complaints and investigated 5 motor
vehicle accidents. There were 166 traffic tickets and 28 parking tickets
issued during the month.
There were seven felony complaints, four for burglary, two for attempted
burglary, and one for grand larceny. There were twenty misdemeanor
complaints, six for petit larceny, four for criminal trespass, three
for criminal mischief, two for aggravated harassment, and one each for
criminal impersonation, bad check, public lewdness, criminal possession
of stolen property, and theft of services.
iOne person was arrested for trespass and one person was arrested for
driving while intoxicated.
With the permission of the Mayor and Treasurer, we have advertised for
bids for a new police car to replace the 1977 Chevrolet Nova which will
be two years old in January 1979. The bids will be available for your
review and possible bid award at the Board meeting. It takes about
three months after order for delivery.
There was a total of $922.00 in property reported lost or stolen during
the month and $90.22 in property recovered by the Police Department.
The full -time officers worked 16 hours overtime and the part -time officers
worked a total of 117 hours during the month.
