• REPORT OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT

RE: Report of the Fire Department for the month of August 1978
There were II fire alarms and 5 incident reports for the month of August.
On August 3rd, at 6:03 p.m., a malfunction in the alarm system at BOCES called out
the department. Twenty -flve men and 5 trucks responded.
On August 4th, at 7:40 p.m. and again on August 7th at 3:59 p.m., the Department
was called out for a malfunction in the alarm system at BOCES. On the first alarm
16 man and 3 trucks responded. On the second alarm 14 men and 5 trucks responded.
On August 8th, at 4:30 p.m., a stove fire at 307 Forest Drive called out the
Department. SlxFeen men and 2 trucks responded.
A malfunction jh the Interior alarm system at 108 Iroquois Road called out the
Department on August 17th, at 3:42 p.m. Thirteen men and 4 trucks responded. The
trouble was located in the telephone company lines.
On August 19th, at 1:39 a.m., a mutual aid call was answered at Pyramid Mail on
a false alarm. Fifteen men and 3 trucks responded.
A gasoline fire in the Pyramid Mall parking lot was responsible for a call on
August 22nd, at 1:43 a.m. Fourteen man and one truck responded.
On August 28th, at 2:09 a.m., railroad ties on fire at 515 Warren Road called out
the Department. Fifteen men and I truck responded.
The Department was called out to an accident for a gasoline flush on August 28th,
at 6:00 p.m., at Hanshaw and the Parkway. Seventeen men and 1 truck responded.
Also on August 28th, at 7:02 p.m., the Department was called on mutual aid for a
dormitory fire at the Lansing Youth Center. Seventeen men and 2 trucks responded.
The five incident calls in August were as follows: first aid - 2; a house fire
alarm malfunction - 1; flooding - 1; house fire survey - I.
