SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for July 1978
The Police Department handled 73 complaints and investigated 4 motor
vehicle accidents. There were 115 traffic tickets and 8 parking tickets
issued during the month.
There were two felony complaints, one for grand larceny and one for grand
larceny of a motor vehicle. There were twenty -two misdemeanor complaints,
six for criminal mischief, five for petit larceny, five for criminal trespass,
two for aggravated harassment, one for bad check, one for criminal tampering,
one for illegal possession of fireworks, and one for unlawful possession of
a controlled substance.
Two persons were arrested for petit larceny, two were arrested for issuing
bad checks, and one was arrested for disorderly conduct. Eight juveniles
were apprehended, four for petit larceny, three for criminal mischief, and
one for curfew violation.
There was a total of $487.63 in property reported lost or stolen during the
month and $86.59 in property recovered by the Police Department.
The full -time officers worked 19 hours overtime and the part -time officers
worked a total of 169 hours during the month.
