Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for June 1978 The Police Department handled 67 complaints and investigated 6 motor vehicle accidents. There were 71 traffic tickets and 9 parking tickets issued during the month. There was one felony complaint for grand larceny. There were eighteen misdemeanor complaints, five for criminal mischief, five for bad checks, four for petit larceny, three for criminal trespass, and one for aggravated harassment. one person was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and five juveniles were apprehended for curfew violations during the month. I have discussed with Trustee Anderson, Chairmen of the Street Lighting Committee and Village Attorney Sovocool the matter of a policy for the Village concerning street lighting on new streets where underground wiring is required. The Village Attorney will propose a resolution for Village Board consideration in this matter. I have also discussed the matter of the all -night parking ordinance and the recent ruling of Village Justice Dean with Village Attorney Sovocool and Justice Dean and we have agreed upon the wording for an amendment to the ordinance. I would therefore recommend that a public hearing be scheduled prior to the August 21, 1978 Village Board meeting and that the Village Clerk be instructed to duly advertise the hearing. There was a total of $199.62 in property reported lost or stolen during the month and $354.62 in property recovered by the Police Dept.
