RE: Report of the Fire Department for the month of May 1978.
There wore 13 general alarms and 13 incident calls In May 1978.
On May Ist, at 10:35 a.m., fl;c Department was called on mutual aid to the Pyramid
Mali for an alarm :%x!funci;oi:. Twelve men and three pieces of apparatus responded.
An electrical fira <t 7.3 Cinema Drive called the Department on mutual aid call.
Nineteen men and threw h-ucks responded.
On May 45h, at 4:57 p.m., the Department was called on mutual aid to Pyramid Mall.
An alarm malfunction. Nineteen men and two trucks responded.
A false alarm at Cayuga Heights School caused by a malfunction because of a storm
caI!ed out the Deparirient. Twen•h; men and 3 trucks responded on May 9th, at
3:50 p.m.
• An electrical pole fire and wires down was responsible for a call on May 9th at
3:59 p.m. Twenty men and 3 trucks responded.
On May 14th, at 3 :54 a.m., the Department was called on mutual aid to assist the
Ithaca Fire Dept. at the Y.M.C.A. fire. Thirty men and two trucks responded.
A stove fire at 1206 Hanshaw Road was responsible for a call on May 14th at 9:01
a.m. Twenty men and 4 -trucks responded.
On May 14th, at 6:23 p.m., the Department was called to 386 The Parkway for a stove
fire. Thirty men. and 4 trucks responded.
A smoke odor called out the Department on May 17th, at 5:17 p.m., to the Warrenwood
Apartments. Burned toast in an electric toaster caused the odor. Twenty -two men
and 3 trucks responded.
A burned out light ballast was responsible for a call to 317 Warren Road on
NLay 22nd at 11:58 p.m. Twenty -two men and 4 trucks responded.
On May 30th, at 1:27 a.m., a grass fire was responsible for a call to 115 Winston
Drive. Twenty -one men and 3 trucks responded.
On May 30th, at 8:34 p.m., the Department was called on mutual aid to Pyramid Mall.
An alarm malfunction was responsible. Twenty-one men and 3 trucks responded.
A Tractor fire in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery on May 31st, at 7:24 p.m., called
out the Department. Sixteen men and two trucks responded.
There were 13 incident calls in May as follows: Smoke odor 2; wires down 2; trees
down 1; first aid calls 5; grass fire 1; gasoline spill I; flooded basement I.
