Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for April 1978 The Police Department handled 67 complaints and investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents. There ware 74 traffic tickets and 14 parking tickets issued during the month. There were seventeen misdemeanor complaints, seven for criminal mischief, four for petit larceny, three for bad checks, two for aggra%rated harassment, and one for unlawfully using slugs. One juvenile was apprehended during the month for a curfew violation. Officer Robert D. Day has recently informed me that he will be resigning as a full -time police officer about July 2, 1978 to take a position as Sergeant with the Dryden Police Dept. I have met to discuss this matter with the Public Safety Committee and we are making arrangements to use part -time officers to fill this vacancy until a new civil service list is established early in 1979 at which time I will be recommending a replacement. Officer Day has agreed to stay on as a part -time officer which will be helpful and avoid purchasing additional uniforms etc. for at least one officer. There was a total of $146.46 in property reported lost or stolen during the month and $10.00 in property recovered by the police department. The officers worked a total of 3.6 hours overtime during the month. HRM:bp 11 Respectfully, R.GU. Harlin R. McEwen Chief of Police
