George, Fire Chief RE: Report of the Fire Department for the month of April 1978 There were 4 gonaral . =,larms and 8 incident calls in April 1978. On April 16th at 11:18 a.m., -the Department was called to 107 Kay Street. A neighbor obr-orved heavy smoko over a house and called in an alarm. The smoke was from a chimney where the owner had a fire in his fire place. There was no fire. On April 25th at 8:50 p.m., the Department was called under mutual aid to stand by at Lansing Station 5 while their equipment was committed to a fire at the N.Y.S. Division of Youth at Lansing Center. The Department was also requested to send Truck No. 234 to the fire scene so that the cascade air system could be used. On April 27th at 12:25 a.m., the Department was called to 312 Highland Read where smoke was seen coming from the eaves around the roof. Heating tape in the eaves trough shorted out and set some pine needles in the eaves on fire. • A serious auto accident on Route 13 in the Village was responsible for a call to assist the police on stand by and to remove glass from the road. There wero 8 incident calls in April as follows: I smoke odor, 1 gas adoir, I to assist the police, and 3 for first aid. REQUEST FOR A RESOLUTION OF APPROVAL OF PURCHASE In our Fire Department budget for this next fiscal year 1978 -79 we have the neces- sary funds to purchase 2 portable radios and 2 minitor radio pagers. Because of a delay of about 90 days for delivery, we are requesting permission to order these items at this time. 2 - portable radios at $700.00 each Total $1,400.00 2 - Minitor pagers at $350.00 each 700.00
