REPORT OF THE FIRE CHIEF

RE: Fire Department report for the month of December 1977
There were 7 general alarms and 4 Incident reports on December 1977.
On December 4th, at 1:30 p.m., there was an electrical fire In an overhead light
at the Congregational Church at 309 Highland Road. Twenty -six men and 5 pieces
of equipment responded.
A malfunction In the alarm system at Cayuga Heights School called out the Depart-
ment on December 7th, at 10:23 p.m. Twenty men and 5 trucks responded.
On December 8th, at 8:59 p.m., the Department was called to the Warrenwood Apts.,
Bldg. 2, 600 Warren Road for an electrical fire. Twenty -four men and 4 trucks
responded.
A burned -out furnace caused smoke and an alarm at 1010 Highland Road on Dec. 16th,
at 4:49 a.m. Fourteen men and.4'trucks respon'd6&,:!.
• On December 22nd, at 5 :10 p.m -." the. Department was called to Hasbrouck Apartments
for a street light which was on fire. Twenty men and 2 trucks responded.
On December: 27th, at 7:15•a ;m.;- the. Department- responded- .to,-Pyramid:Mal•I:.on a
mutual aid call. There was a malfunction In their alarm system. Seventeen men
and 2 trucks responded.'-' -;
A'- broken: water pipe. which-flooded three floors .of a- fratern lty at 106 Cayuga
Heights Road called out the Department on December 30th, at 10:00 a.m. Fourteen
men and one truck responded.
The four incident reports were as follows: I flooded basement; a standby at the
Station during:a severe•snow . storm;:an-investigation of:'a..fIre alarm system; and
one assist of the police for a car in a ditch.

The Fire Inspector completed his annual inspection of the 7 buildings at BOCES.
