HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Mayor 12/19/1977E VILLAGc OF CAYUGA II- EIGHTS REPORT OF MAYOR - December 19, 1977 i have spent some time discussing with the American Television Cable Corporation the terms of our franchise to be granted to them. They had amended the language regarding the cost of assets they acquired from Ceracche, which we recommended at our last Board discussion of the natter. The new discussions between me and the Corporation led to a meeting at 10:00 a.m. December 10. Mr. Rorke, the local ATC manager, Joined with Gordon Wheeler, Ian Macneil, and me in the examination of their language and ours. At the end, we seemed to be agreed on the following: 1) That the Village stands ready to accept from the Corporation a statement about the replacement value of the assets, taking into account depreciation and obsolescence. 2) That the Village also will receive from the Corporation an estimate made by the Corporation- appointed appraiser regarding the original cost of the assets • to be based, where feasible, on records of Ceracche TV and where this is not feasible, on estimates by the appraiser based on extrapolation from replacement values, using the best information available; e.g., industry indexes, etc. 3) That the Village will be free to choose, when the occasion arises, which of these figures in (1) or (2) above to consult when considering an application for new T.V. rates. ian Macneil gave much help In working out the new language. 0 F.
