REPORT OF FIRE INSPECTOR - October 1977 Since the last report In September, several Viilage residents have been advised on the location of fire detectors in their homes. The !nspector has also been in contact with Mr. Stack, who seems to be responsible for fire prevention activities at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Discussion was held concerning the placement and purchase of fire extinguishers and a fire detection system. The annual fire inspection (as required by New York State) of Cayuga Heights, Northeast, and D3Witt schools. There were ro serious conditions concerning fire safety. In Some instances there were storage rooms in which there appeared to be an excess amount of combustibles. This Is a judgment factor and does not neces- sarliy represent a critical situation. A serious condition continues to exist at -the DeWitt Junior High School. This concerns broken gauges on the transformer located outside the building. There are • two broken gauges on the unit. One appears to be a thermometer indication oil temperature, -the other an oil level gauge. These gauges have been broken for years with damage being done before the transformer was enclosed by a fence. Now that a fence has been installed, the gauges should be repaired. •
