Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga heights Bids for the replaceme=nt' of the shingle roof on the Fire Siation are schedvl..ri for opening on f']nrtey, October 17 and wi l l be available for the Hoard Meeting that day. WATER LINES A complaint has been received from a resident on N. Sunsnt Drive that his water pressure was up to 130 pounds and that it caused problems with his appliances. He reeuested that the Village correct this situation. A discussion with the Water Commission on their proposed work on the Village of Cayuga Heights water systems indicated a total cost, if all work done, of between $100,000 and $200,000. It is not clear that all the work listed by the Commission is the responsibility of the Village and obviously, the Village cannt• afford at this time that kind of an expendl- ture. It is the recommendation of the Engineer that replacement of divisional valves be done ar. it is necessary, to have these valves in proper operation before other work can be done.on the water lines. At present, there are three broken valves that need to he replacod as they are broken In the off position causing six dead ends in our water lines. I would also recommend that two other divisional valves be replaced, making a total of five valves if needed at a cost for replacement of $600.00 - a total cost of $5,000 for next year's budget. There are certain divisional valves between the Villa.7e of Cayuga Heights and City of Ithaca that are believed by the Commission to he Ieakinrl. It is the opinion of the Village Engineer that thr.!-.e. valves , hould hevo been installed In proper onorating condition as of the time :f tie. cutoff of the city to the Ftolton Point water and that correction 1; thri responsibility of the Commission. SEWER PLANT in the correction of some flood damage at the Sewer Plant, it was necessary to hire a contactor wish a full track front end loader as tho Village does not have and coutu nut horrow such a piece of equipment. Working with the Villaga work force this piece rf equipment was able to complete the re- grading necese.'ny ai lho pi.nnf.
