REPORT OF THE FIRE CHIEF

RE: Fire Department Report for the month of September 1977.
There were 8 general alarms and II incident reports for the month of September 1977.
On September Ist, at 9:53 a.m., the Department was called to 319,Highland Rd. for a
stove fire. Seventeen men and 4 trucks respcnded.
Also on September 1st, a•r 4:45 p.m., the Fleralarm sounded the horns during a rain
storm. There r .,,as no fire. The monitors were not alerted. A short in the telephone
lines was believed responsible. Nine men responded to the Station.
On September 2nd, at 10:23 a.m., a burned oust light ballast called the Department
for an alarm at 309 Highland Road. Fourteen men and 4 trucks responded.
On September 9th, at 5:00 p.m., the Ithaca Fire Department called for a portable
generator for Tompkins County Hospital where the power was off because of a rain
storm. One truck responded with a portable generator e:es :!,. -%d for one hour
until the power was restored. Ten men responded to the Station.

Dora ° :, :?:: -. r:rs called to Lakeland Homes Apts., Bldg. 5, on September Ilth, at
8:2t .m., for an electrical fire. • Thirty. men. and a trucks responded.
A false alarm called the Department to BOCES, Bldg. D, on September 13th, at
1:12�p.m.! A malfunction in t•he:alarm system caused the alarm.: Twelve men and
4 trucks responded.
On September 14th, at 3:12 p.m., an accidental false alarm called the Department
to DaWltt'Jr. High School. Fourteen men and-.4-trucks-responded.
On September 15th, at 11:05 p.m., the Department was called on mutual aid to the
Hill- Department Stdr•o at Pyramid Mall. -A malfunction in the interior glary system .
caused the alarm. Twenty -six men and 3 trucks responded.
