George, Fire Chief RE: Fire Department report for the month of August 1977. There werc 6 general alarms and 2 Incident reports In the month of August 1977. On August 6th, at 8:20 p.m., the Department was called to Conley Liquor Store for a gasoline odor. It was found the funes in the store came from a tanker filling the tanks at the ESSO Station. Fifteen men and three trucks responded. An accidental false alarm called the Department to 310 Triphammer Road on August 8 at 10:28 a.m. Fourteen men and 4 trucks responded. On August 14th, at 11:30 a.m., the Department was called to a mutual aid fire call at the Triphammer Mall Laundrette for an electric motor fire. Twenty men and 3 trucks responded. On August 18th, at 7:28 p.m., an electric stove fire called the Department to 703 Cayuga Heights Road. Twenty -four men and 4 trucks responded. The Varna Fire Department also responded as our Department was having a training session at tho Ithaca Training Center. An accidental false alarm at BrlWing C at BOCES on August 31st at 10:23 a.m. called out the Department. Sixteen men and 5 trucks responded. A motorcycle fire at 310 Salem Drive on August 31st at 10:39 a.m. called out the Department. Sixteen men and 3 trucks responded. There were two incident calls in August. One call was from the Ithaca Fire Dept. for the loan of a portable pump to assist in removing water from Morrill Hall, and a second request was for a Fire Safety Survey of a private home. The Fire Council requests permission to purchase the following for which the neces- sary funds were budgeted for this year. I. To convert two 15- minute Scott Air Pacs to 30- minute Pacs. $151.00 2. To install two stationary, elevated 500 -wait flood lights on Engine 201 250.00 3. To purchase two Minitor radio pagers at $345.00 each d 690.00
