Village of Cayuga Heights
SUBJEC'1': Report of the Police Chief for June 1977
The Police Department handled 90 complaints and investigated 6 motor
vehicle accidents. There were 66 traffic tickets and 11 parking tickets
issued during the month.
There were four felony complaints during the month, three for burglary and
one for grand larceny. There were forty misdemeanor complaints, twenty -
three for issuing bad checks, eight for petit larceny, five for criminal
mischief, three for criminal trespass, and one for aggravated harassment.
Three persons were arrested for driving while intoxicated, one person
was arrested for burglary and two persons were arrested for being in
Sunset Park after closing hours. Five juveniles were apprehended for
criminal trespass and four juveniles were apprehended for criminal
mischief.
The street name signs approved by the Board at the May meeting have been
ordered along with brackets to install them on 2 inch inside diameter pipe.
The standard pipe for these signs is galvanized tubular steel at $10 per post.
Additional prices of about $21 per post and $29 per post have been obtained
from local distributors for heavier steel pipe but the diameter would call
for different and more costly type of mounting brackets. The pipe has not
been ordered as yet awaiting the Village Engineers approval of the type of
pipe.
There was a total of $2,'11205 in property reported lost or stolen during
the month and $883.70 in property was recovered by the Police Department.
The officers worked a total of 23 hours overtime during the month.
