RE: Fire Department•report for the month of May 1977
On May 5th, at 9:38 a.m., a false alarm at the Village Hail called out the Dept.
The Police Dept. called before any trucks responded advising that the alarm was
false. Thirteen man responded.
On May 6th, at 2:08 p.m., there was a second false alarm at the Village Hail. The
Police Department again called that the alarm was false. On both occasions a tele-
phone repair man was working on the lines at the Village Hall. Ten firemen respon-
ded to this alarm.
A car fire at Community Corners called out the Department cr May 714.5 at 2:07 p.m.
Two trucks and II men responded.
On May 8th, at 12:30 a.m., the Department responded to a mutual aid call at the
Jamesway store on a false alarm. Three trucks and 16 men responded.
On May 19th, at 9:11 p.m., the Department was called to Hasbrouch Apartments for a
working fire in an apartment. Five trucks and 20 men responded. The fire was
caused by careless smoking or children playing with matches.
A false alarm called the Department to the Hurlburt House on Triphammer Road on
Play 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. Three trucks and 20 men responded.
On May 22nd, at 9:01 p.m., a car fire on Route 13 called out the Department. Two
trucks and 22 men responded.
A riding lawn mower which caught on fire called the Department to Winston Court
Apartments on May 24th at 3:15 p.m. Two trucks and 16 men responded.
On May 27th, at 1:19 p.m., the Department was called to Community Corners to flush
gasoline from the street. Two trucks and 6 men responded.
A false alarm at 508 Cayuga Heights road was responsible for a fire call on
May 29th at 7:00 p.m. Three trucks and 14 men responded.
There were three Incident calls In May. On May 15th, the fire Norms were accdent-
ally set off by County Fire Control. On May 17th, the interior fire alarms were
set off by a malfunction at 302 N. Sunset Road; On May 25th, the Department was
called to replace a sewer grate at 116 The Parkway.
