Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for February 1977 The Police Department handled 55 complaints and investigated 13 motor vehicle accidents. There were 55 traffic tickets and 17 parking tickets issued during the month. There were two felonies reported during the month, one for burglary which was later determined to be unfounded and another for attempted burglary. There were twelve misdemeanor complaints, three for petit larceny, three for criminal trespass, three for aggravated harassment, two for bad checks, and one for criminal mischief. Three persons were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and one person was charged with the felony of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in connection with the cashing of forged checks at the First National Bank in 1975. I have forwarded a separate memo to all Board members concerning the proposal for the use of Revenue Sharing money to improve our telephone system and also to purchase the necessary equipment to allow for the necessary backup r'll osygen/epr rnlls. I respectfully request that you approve these requests at this meeting so that true can order the necessary equipment. It will take 2 -3 months to get the equipment and implement these changes. The Public Safety Committee has been consulted in these matters. I have discusecd i.i: also with the Village Treasurer and he states this is an appropriate use for revenue sharing money and there is money in the account. There was a total of 5322.44 in property lost or stolen during the month and $281.46 in property recovered by the Police Department. The officers worked a total of 37 hours overtime during the month.
