REPORT OF THE FIRE CHIEF
TO: Honorable F. G. Marcham, Mayor, and Members of the Board of Trustees

RE: Fire Department report for the month of December 1976.
On December 2nd, at 8:50 p.m., a dishwasher fire called the Department to
105 Maplewood Drive. Three trucks and 24 men responded.
On December 6th, at 8:08 a.m., the Department was called to 113 Birchwood Drive
where food burning on a stove filled the house with smoke. Three trucks and
2A men responded.
A gas leak at Pyramid Mall on December 13th, at 10:40 p.m., was responsible for a
Mutual Aid call to Lansing. Two trucks and 20 men responded.
On December 17th, at 9:28 a.m., a false alarm at the Hurlburt House at Cornell
caused by a water surge called out the department. Four trucks and 18 men
responded.
On December 18th, at 10:58 p.m., the Department was called to Hasbrouck Apartments.
A metal light pole was burned through and fell to the ground as the result of an
• electrical short. Two trucks and 18 men responded.
On December 19th, at 1:33 p.m., the Department was called to 201 Christopher Lane.
The cleanout under a fireplace caught fire as the result of scraps of wood left in
the cleanout by the builder. Four trucks and 22 men responded.
On December 21st, at 7:21 p.m., the Department was called to Warrenwood Apts. A
mattress, box springs, and a rug were burned as a result of careless smoking.
Four trucks and 29 men responded.
There were two Incident Calls in December. One for wires down at Randolph Road and
Winthrop Drive and a second call of Mutual Aid to Ithaca who borrowed foam equip- .
ment.
