HomeMy WebLinkAboutAnnual Report of the Village Forester 1976r U i. Annual Report of the Village Forester 1976 The number of American elms being killed by Dutch Elm desease and phloem necrosis disease is now declining rapidly (See Figure). Two reasons are responsible for the decline: (1) the effective removal of diseased elms by villagers; and (2) the reduced number of elms which now makes it difficult for the disease to be spread from tree to tree. The projection and hope is that this trend in the reduced loss of elms will continue. Again, I want to thank the villagers for their fine cooperation and patience in our effort to keep the Village environment beautiful and safe. 180 160 140 (n 120 m 100 280 z 60 .N 20 David Pimentel Village Forester 1970 1971 1972 1973 1974 1975 1976
