SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for October 1976
The Police Department handled 52 complaints and investigated 10 motor
vehicle accidents. There were 106 traffic tickets and 41 parking tickets
issued during the month.
There vere tvo felonies reported during the month, one for grand larceny
and one for criminal possession of forged instrument. There were fifteen
misdemeanor complaints, six for bed checks, four for criminal trespass,
two for petit larceny, one for.criminal mischief, one for aggravated
harassment and one for falsely reporting an incident.
One person was arrested for two felony counts of criminal possession of
a forged instrument and grand larceny, one person was arrested for forgery,
and one person was arrested for issuing a bad check. One juvenile was
apprehended for falsely reporting rn incident.
Bids have been received for a new police car to replace Car 1125, a 1975
Chevrolet Nova which has been in service since May of 1975. 1 recommend thnt
i;e airard the bid to the low bidder H-ewport Chevrolet in the amount of
;;4500.83. The other bid received was from Ray Stafford's Chevrolet, Dryden,
in the amount of C•4797.00.
Halloo-reen was relatively quiet this yrar, probably partly because of the
rainy weather. Five local teenage boys rode in the patrol cars this year
and assisted in our vandalism prevention. They have been sent certificates
of appreciation signed by the Mayor and the Police Chief.
There was a total of 1484.89 in property reported lost or stolen during
the month end 1'e1832.85 in property recovered by the Police Department.
The officers worked a total of 60 hours overtime during the month.
