Minutes 9/28/1976VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS BOARD OF TRUSTEES MINUTES of a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights held on September 28, 19760 at 4:00 p.m. in the Village Hall. PRESENT: Mayor F. G. Marcham; Trustees David J. Allee, Ronald E. Anderson, Sheller S. Phllbrick, Rane F. Randolph; Fire Chief Lowell T. George; Police Chief Hariln R. McEwen; Engineer John B. Rogers; Attorney Roger B. Sovocool. ABSENT: Trustees David Plmentel, Jean R. Robinson; Treasurer Gordon B. Wheeler. Motion made by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Allee:- RESOLUTION NO. 2613 - RESTAURANT PERMIT - CORNERS COMMUNITY CENTER VOTED that there exists a need for a restaurant as described In the application of the Corners Community Center, Inc., and Rosettl Associates, Inc., and the Board authorizes the granting of a permit for operation of the restaurant on terms set forth by the Attorney and incorporated In a permit to be granted to the applicant, and the Board authorizes the Zoning Offlcer to issue a permit to Corners Community Center, Inc., and Rosettl Associates, Inc., for operation of a restaurant on the terms as follows: Copy of Permit as furnished by Attorney will be Inserted in Minute Book. Passed with three yes votes, Trustee Randolph opposed. • ae �r * ' 40 Motion made by Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Randolph: RESOLUTION 2614 - EXTENSION OF EMPLOYMENT - WALTER HAYES VOTED to authorize the Mayor to seek from the Director of Retirement Benefits of the State of New York permission to extend the employment of Walter Hayes - for one year beyond the date of his retirement and to present in his behalf a letter from the Village Engineer as set forth below and such other information as may be necessary. Copy of J. B. Rogers letter will be inserted In Minute Book. Unanimously passed. The Engineer reported on the problems arising from the condition of the fire house roof and explained the repairs deemed to be necessary. MINUTES of Special Meeting - September 28, 1976 Motion made by Trustee Allee, seconded by Trustee Pimentol: • RESOLUTION 2615 - REPAIRS TO FIRE HOUSE ROOF 40 is page 2 V071EU to authorize ao addifl on to the contract with Guaranteed Services, Inc., for repair of the fl re house roof edge to permit suitable attachment of the roof to the perimeter of the structure in the manner sot forth in the sketch prepared by the Village Engineer and dated 9/30/76; and attached to the original sketch for roof repairs dated 8/10/76; tho basis of the compensation for carrying out this addition Is to be labor cost at $12 per hour and material, to which material costs 15% will be added. The total cost of the addition to be an estimated maximum price -to be negotiated by the Engineer. Unanimously passod. It was agreed that there should be a report on the original contract for a new roof. The architect Is to report to the Engineer his Judgment on this matter, and the Engineer is to take whatever steps may be necessary In the light of the dreliitect's advice. Motion made by Trustee Phiibrick, seconded by Trustee Alice: RESOLUTION NO. 2616 - PURCHASE BREATHALYZER SIMILATOR - POLICE DEPT. VOTED to authorize the spending of $153.43 to purchase a breathalyzer similator from Fromark Corp.; the cost to be met from funds outside the Police budget. Unanimously passed. Motion made by Trustee Phiibrick, seconded by Trustee Alice: RESOLUTION 2617 - SEWER EXCLUSION FROM DEBT LIMIT VOTED to apply to the Board of Audit and Control for pernisslon to exclude $1,497,000 from the Village debt limit, as the sum outstanding against the cost to the Village of the sewer plant. Unanimously passed. Motion made by Trustee Phiibrick, seconded by Trustee Anderson: RESOLUTION NO. 2618 - PLUMBING CODES VOTED to authorize the holding of a public hearing on October 18, 1976, at 7 :00 p.m. to consdler the adoption of a local law to provide basic and uniform rules for plumbing in the Village. Unanimously passed. MINUTES of Special Meefiing - September 28, 1976 page 3 Motion made by Trustee Randolph, seconded by Trustee Philbrick: ® RESOLUTION 2619 - SIGN - COMMUNITY CORNERS �i VOTED to deny the request of the Corners Community Center, Inc, to be allowed to keep in place the two signs and support structures and the third support structure recently Installed In violation of the Village Ordinance and to Instruct the Zoning Officer to notify the applicaj+ , of the action of the Board. Unanimously passed. Motion made by Trustee Randolph, seconded by Trustee Phllbrick: RESOLUTION 2620 - SIGN - CORNWALL VOTED to deny the request of the owner of Peggy Cornwall Town d Country Clothes to be allowed to keep In place the free - standing sign and structure recently in- stalled in violation of the Village Ordinance, and to Instruct the Zoning Officer to notify the applicant of the actlon of the Board.
