George, Fire Chief RE: Fire Dept. report for the month of August 1976 There were 8 fire calls and 3 Incident reports for the month of August 1976. On August ist, at 10:55 p.m., a malicious false alarm called out the depart- ment to Cayuga Heights school. Four ptecos of apparatus and 25 men responded. A clothes dryer in Bldg. 14 at Lansing North Apartments was responsible for a mutual aid call to Lansing on August 5th at 12:30 p.m. Two pieces of apparatus and 12 men responded. On August 6th, at 2:15 p.m., a burned -out ballast In a ceiling light was responsible for an alarm at the Brooks Drug Store in the Village Green. Three pieces of apparatus and 6 man responded. On August 11th, at 1:04 p.m., the department was called to 305 Highland Road where an incinerator malfunction filled the building with smoke. Three pieces of apparatus and 9 man responded. On August 13th, at 6:44 p.m., the department was requested by County Fire Control under mutual aid to send one engine to Lansing Station #5 to stand by while the Lansing Department had a working fire. One engine and 9 men responded. Under mutual aid, the department responded on August 13th, at 9:00 p.m., to the Jamesway Department Store where a malfunction in the alarm system caused a false alarm. Three places of apparatus and 15 men responded. On August 23rd, at 11:50 a.m., the department was called on mutual aid to assist Lansing at the Montgomory Ward Store in the Pyramid Mali where a malfunction in the alarm system caused a false alarm. Three pieces of apparatus and 7 men responded. Electric wires blown down in a storm at 515 Warren Road called out the department on August 26th, at 6:49 p.m. Two pieces of apparatus and 18 men responded. The department had three incident calls in August. One call to inspect a home for a fire alarm installation and two calls to motor vehicle accidents to flush gasoline from the street. 0
