reports •ihat the Lansing Village and Board has Instructed the Village Attorney
1-0 draw up a contract. I had supposed that we would meet with some representatives
of Lanstrig to detine.in detail topics referred to in my letter. Presumably, the
procedure now will be to examine the Lansing version in detail and consult with
Lansing whon we have formed our views concerning it. Our interest in transferring
to Lansing responsibility for dealing with breakdowns In the sewer system in Lansing
gained force when a stopped manhole erupted in Lansing on June 5th, Saturday, at
9:00 a.m. Mr. Sanderson, of their Sewer Committee, reported the incident to_,pr ,,,

Mr. Cornwall had no favorable reply to his request for access to 830 Hanshaw Road
over the property of the Village Green. He now asks us to accept an entry and exit
along the eastern boundary of his property. We need to consider the effect of this
proposal on Hanshaw Road traffic.
We have a request from two pc:;-sons who wish: a) To raise nursery stock; and b)
to sell it on land within the Corners Community Center Commercial Zone or adjacent
to it. They submit no map. I assume they are considering the nursery stock on the
property that fronts on East Upland Road. This property is now classified as resi-
dential, with a view to protecting the interests of those who live on the west side
of the road.
• An organization called Tompkins County Municipal Officials Association reports that
none of our officials belong to their group and suggests that the Village Board con-
sider affiliation of the Village with the Association. Meetings of the Association
discuss current local government issues. There is an admission fee of $5.00 per
Village and annual dues of $25.00.
Mr. Durland has submitted a long statement. Copies of it will be available to you
at the meeting. For our purposes the essential features are, I believe, as follows:
1) Mr. Durland does not yet own the property; 2) He mentions no specific plans for
britlding a house when he does own It - "We would like to build," 1s how he puts it;
3) There are rules concerning use of the court - e.g.; no play before 9:30 and 10 on
Sundays; 4) He names 18 persons other than himself and his wife who have use of the
court. He suggests there are others; 5) The court was used 6 times In May,10 in April.
Waller Schwan, on behalf of the Intermuniclpal Water Commission, advises that the
debt we have assumed in connection with the water program raises, for the bonding
attorneys, questions concerning our debt limits. He suggests that we seek from the
State authority to exclude our debt in connection with the sewer program from the
calculations, an allowable practice. Ile shall need to act on this.
i4r. Rosetti, of the Corners Restaurant, asks permission to reconstruct his restau-
rant so that he may sell alcoholic beverages, and to remain open until 10 p.m. He
Intends not to have a bar where drinks will be sold. He intends to serve drinks
only at tables. When I asked if only with meals, he hesitated. It is worth knowing
that the proprietor of the Convenient Food Mart is seeking signatures on a petition
to have his store open beyond the present deadline of 10 p.m.
Mr. Harlan Brumstead, our representative on the Tompkins County Management Council,
has filed with pro the Council's Annual Report.
