George, Fire Chief There were 3 fire calls in May 1976. On May 8th, at 12:33 p.m., a false alarm occurred after the 12:30 p.m. County -wide test, it Is believad the Fire Control Dispatcher pushed the wrong button. The monitors were not alerted. Five Men responded before the call was cancelled on 1119 monitors. A car fire at 320 The Parkway, on May 18th, at 2:38 p.m., called out the Department. Two engines, Car 261, and 19 men responded. On May 19th, at 5:08 p.m., & mutual aid call to our Department requested an engine and manpower standby at Varna while they had all their equipment committed to a working fire. One engine, Car 261, and II men responded. Permission from the Board of Trustees to make the following purchases Is requested: 1) Two 10 -foot lengths of 5 -inch Bosflex Red Star hard - suction hose with ligh-hxeight couplings at $250.00 each 1 $500.00 2) Two hose troughs of aluminum tread plate with mounting for 10 -foot hard suction hose - total for labor and material $200.00 ]�) One Motorola combination pager and monitor with self charger $375.00 The money for the above purchases is In the 1976 -77 Fire Department budget. The Tornpklns County Fire Advisory Bard is proposing that the New York State Division of Fire Safety seirvey and evaluate all of the Fire Departments In Tompkins County. TSare is no cost to 'i•h0 study. Each Village Board must pass a resolution requesting the survey of their Department. Therefore, I am requesting the Village Gard to pass such a resolution as proposed In the attached letter.
