HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the May 5/17/1976REPORT OF THE MAYOR May 17, 1976 My principal activity since our last regular meeting has dealt with some aspects of the Lansing Village Sewer Contract discussions. You have copies of the correspondence that has passed back and forth and have heard part of the arguments presented for Lansing. We scheduled a meeting between their Sewer Sub - Committee and ours (Robinson, Anderson, Rogers, and Marcham) for Thursday last at 4:00 p.m. The Lansing Committee appeared at 4:30 p.m. (Mrs. Furry at 4:45), and we made little progress because Mrs. Robinson and I had to leave at 5:00. Messrs. Anderson and Rogers stayed on and will have something to report. What emerged in the early stages of the discussions was the following: a) Lansing says it cannot live with our proposed allocation of 50,000 gallons per day and asks for a larger figure. b) Lansing says that Pyramid has presented no detailed figures • for a private line and has not obtained D.E.C. permit for such a line. c) Lansing argues that it must have more units to support more development, to support their own Railroad Trunk Sewer and an Oakcrest Road Sewer. d) We pointed out that sewer unit growth in Lansing has been as follows: 1973 - 823 units 1975 - 1763•} units In addition, there has been a more less constant 160 units for the Airport and Research Park. I have a letter from Mr. Liguori, County Commissioner of Planning, dated May 12, 1976, as follows: (Mayor Marcham will read Mr. Liguori's l e-I'S r) . F. G. Marcham •
