SEWER LINES

From Manhole 311 to 310, three hundred forty feet of 8 -Inch ti o sewer line was
replaced with 10 -Inch transite to Increase the capacity of this Savage Farm Iine.
Also, between Manhole 310 and 309, one hundred twenty -eight feet of 8 -inch the
sewer line was replaced with 10 -inch transite. With the completion of these two
sections, the entire Savage Farm Iine is 10 -inch transite except two sections that
have greater than 2% slope and will therefore carry the greater capacity In the
existing 8 -Inch the fine. This increase of the size of the sewer Iine in Savage
Farm will give added capacity to the lines carrying sewage from the Village of
Lansing and the Airport coming into the Village through our Berkshire Road sewer
line. It Is intended that the cost of the sewer line will be billed to the Village
of Lansing In accordance with the contract the Village of Cayuga Heights signed
with the Town of Lansing prior to the existence of the Village of Lansing.
REQUESTS FOR CURBS
Mr. ,foe Hartnett and Mr. Khroto, who re_Ide on Triphammer Rond near the Intorsec-
ticn of Northway Road, have requested a curb in front of their houses to control
. traffic and gravel and cinders in that area. They wish to know the position of the
Board and to what extent the Village would be willing to contribute to such a pro-
ject.
SICK LEAVE
Under the present policies of the Village, as interpreted by the Engineer and the
Clerk, Mr. Del Grover had 63 days of sick leave then was eligible for 21 weeks of
vacation, ending up with the result that he worked only 39 weeks out of the entire
year. Again, a more precise Interpretation as to whether employees earn vacation
during sick leave and how to handle an open -ended sick leave policy is requested.
ROAD DITCHING
The borrowing of a Gradall from the Town of Lansing has made it possible for Public
Works Superintendent Tyrrell to do ditching in several places in the Village. More
of this work will be necessary during the summer.
PAINTING OF VILLAGE HALL
An update of a bid for the painting of the Village Hall is in process. It Is es-
timated that the cost will come in between $2500 and $3000. Is there money to pro-
ceed with this work th!s .summer?
SEWER LINE SURVEY
It Is Intended to hire a Cornell graduate engineer to work part time during the
summer to do additional sewer Iine survey work for Infiltration and also to bring
the Village sewer line maps up to date.

WATER METERS
Notice has been received from the City that effective May 1976, no more water
meters will be furnished to the Village by the City when Installation of a new
connection Is made. The policy of the Board Is requested as to how to handle
these new connections.
REPORT OF ZONING OFFICER - May 1976
One road opening permit was issued In the past month and no zoning permits were
Issued.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24th; to hear
an appeal from Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Belcher for a zoning variance regarding a
FOR SALE sign on their property located on the West side of Route 13 on Tyler Rd.
