RE: Fire Department monthly report for March 1976
There were three fire calls and four incident calls in the month of
March 1976.
On March 16, 1976, at 9:35 a.m., the Department was called to the
Village Green to extinguish a car fire. One engine, Car 261, and 7 men
responded.
An electrical fire in a kitchen wall plug at III Blackstone Avenue
was responsible for a fire call on March 23rd at 5:59 p.m. Two engines,
Car 261, and 19 man responded.
• A grass and woods fire at the Ithaca Country Club called out the
Department on March 27th at 5:53 p.m. Engines 203, 202, Car 261,
and 22 men responded. Children playing with matches were responsible
for the fire.
There were four incident calls as follows:
On March 2nd, at 2:00 a.m., our Resident Driver and bunker were
called to Apt. I -F at Lansing East where a water bed on the second
floor was leaking. The firemen attached a 50 -foot garden hose to
the bed and drained the water out a window. Car 261 and 2 men responded.
On March 3rd, at 9:30 a.m., we were called to 1031 Hanshaw Road to
flush gasoline from the street after an accident. Engine 201 and
three men responded.
On March 12th, at 7:10 a.m., the Department responded to 112 Oak Hill
Road where an animal was caught in a chimney. Engine 202 and four
men responded.
On March 25th, at 8:45 a.m., the Department responded to 418 Kllnewoods
Road where an animal was In a chimney. Engine 201 and 6 men responded.
