HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Mayor 1/19/19769 REPORT OF MAYOR FOR 1 /19 /76-WARD MEETING I have sent to Mayor Smidt of Lansing Village the statement and covering letter I distributed to the Board, and I have set forth in the Ithaca Journal a record of actions by the Village of Cayuga Heights in our relations with Lansing on sewer service. Otherwise, my only activity of a major sort was to correspond with Mr. Ray Vantloutte, Chairman of a new Committee on Intermunicipal Cooperation, created by the County Board of Representatives. Mr. VanHoutte asked my judgment on the most urgent issues in the County at this time. I gave first place to an improved road system in and around the City of Ithaca, the Towns of Ithaca and Lansing, the Villages of Lansing and Cayuga Heights, and Cornell University. I said that my twenty years experience in intermunicipal negotiations made me believe that planning was relatively easy, and that the true test of cooperation came in the attempt to adjust- municipal interests when putting plans into action.
