Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights BOBJWT: Report of the Police Chief for November 1975 The Police Department handled 89 complaints and investigated 8 motor vehicle accidents. There were 86 traffic tickets and 36 parking tickets issued during the month. There were no felony complaints during the month and 35 misdemeanor complaints, 15 for criminal mischief, 9 for bad checks, 6 for petit larceny, 4 for criminal trespass and 1 for theft of cervices. There was a total of $534.95 in property reported lost or stolen during the month and a total of $376.00 in property recovered by the police department. One person was arrested for public intoxication, 1 person for disorderly conduct, 1 person on two counts of bad checks, and 1 person on three charges of theft of services, criminal tampering and possession of burglar tools, There were 7 juvenileo apprehended during the month, 3 for criminal mischief and 4 for curfer: violation. Patrolman Kenneth W. Lansing completed his 10 weeks basic police recruit school on November 14, 1975 with a Grade of 89. He has served his • probationary term and is now eligible for permanent appointment. The 1975 -76 police budget provides for e. $200 raise for Ptlm. Lansing at the time of his permanent appointment and I therefore recommend the following resolution: "VOTED to authorize the Mayor to permanently appoint Kenneth W. Lansing to the position of Police Patrolman effective November 14, 1975 and to raise his annual salary effective on that dste from $935 to $9635 which includes educational incentive, and to notify the Tompkins County Personnel Department of such action." The Tompkins County Board of Representatives has not yet acted on our application for a CM position for a typist in the police department. The 1974 AMC Matador wan involved in an eccident on November 27, 1975 and in out of service for repairs. The car is schediLled to be taken to Elmira for further r "arranty work on the motor on December 16, and when thin is completed the body repairs will be completed and the car put back in service.
