VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS
REPORT OF FIRE CHIEF FOR MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 1975
There were 14 fire and incident calls in the month of September.
On September 10, 1975, a false alarm at Cayuga Heights School was immediately can-
celled by a phone call from the school. The Principal reported there had been a
fire drill; after the system was reset, a malfunction caused a false alarm. Three
men responded before the monitors were used 'co notify the firemen the call was a
false alarm. The fire equipment did not respond.
An alarm came in on the Flexalarm for 607 IIanshoWRoad on September 16, 1975 at
11:27 a.m., after first showing trouble. Car 261 and three men responded to in-
vestigate. The monitors were not alerted.
On September 23, 1975, at 6:55 P.m., the der.vxtment was called for mutual aid by
the Varna Fire Department to assist with a floe at the Morse Chain plant on
Warren Road. Engine 203, Truck 234, and 16 men responded.
There were 11 incident calls in September. One call was for wires down on Warren
Road, and ten calls for flooded homes. At each of these latter calls, the base-
ments or first floors were pumped out or the water vac was used to assist the
• residents.

FIRE INSPECTION REPORT - SEPTEMBER
During the month of September, inspections were conducted at the DeWitt Junior
High School and the Cayuga Heights School. General conditions were excellent.
One potentially serious condition exists at the DeWitt School. Students have
broken gauges on the oil - filled transformer adjacent to the building. These
should be replaced and the transformer enclosed by a Cyclone type fence which
should prevent future damages.
