The Department received the new 1975 Seagraves 1250 - gallon pumper on May 28, 1975•
The truck is being made ready for service.
This is the Department's first diesel engine and there is no one locally to take
care of the engine and transmission. O'Donnell and Quigley of Syracuse offered
a contract for $100 per year to service the truck twice annually without additional
charge, except the oil, which will be changed twice each year. The contract calls
for a complete checkup and tuneup of the engine and an inspection of the automatic
transmission and to make any adjustments that might be needed.
For the purpose of preventative maintenance, I would recommend that we enter into
this contract. I might add, the Ithaca Fire Department avail themselves of this
• service.
