A request has been received to relocate the proposed water line in connection with the reptping of water lines in the Village to connect the Village to the Bolton Point system. The request was to move the water from the west aide of the Village storage building to the east side of the Village storage lot running perpendicular from Sheldon Road in a southerly direction. This new location is a mach easier area in which to construct a new water line. Although it will have to go under the Village salt storage shed, it will be more convenient for the Village to have it installed along the east side of the Village storage yard. STR Ma A legal paper granting permission for the Village to enter onto the property of the Blomquists' on Irogaois Road to deposit rock fill to support the sideralk and road area was drawn by the Village Attorney and submitted to Mrs. Blomquist for her signature. The legal permission has now been signed and is on file in the Village Clerk's Office. We have proceeded with construction. Trees that were large and involved with wires in the area were removed by contract with the General Tree Service. It is the plan of the Public Works Foreman to start work • in this area the beginning of the week of December 16th. Permission was granted to Mr. John Babcock to remove a dead maple tree on the southeast corner of Remington and Cayuga Heights Roads which was within the Village road right of way. Since this tree i-me not involved with wires and was dead and presented some am" traffic hazard, permission was granted for its remcrral. SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT Detailed cost breakdcrm for the piping, work in connection frith the.construction of the proposed scum tank has been received from our consulting engineers, Teetor- Dobbins. It is their recommcndrtion that this proposed price of $5,188 for a scum tank as a change and extra be authorized by the Village Board of Trustees and the contractor be notified as soon as possible so that construction can start on this extra. It is recommended by the Engineer that the Board vote to approve this change and extra at the Decennoer 16th meeting. This, as you may recal., was a change auggestad by our operator and thought uy our consulting engineers to be an excellent way to give flexibility in the operation to ensure maximum treatment of sewage. • Report of Engineer page 3 December 1974 • SEWAGE TREATMENT PLA11T (cont'd) Our sewer plant operator, Mr. Gary Gleason, has recommended that a change and extra be aatthorised to install a time clock on the grit chamber. At present, the grit chanl,er operates on a 24 -hour basis, and the removal of grit is relative- ly small. The installation of a time clock would reduce the power consumption for the operation and also reduce the wear and tear on the mechanical parts. The grit chamber has a large hopper with sufficient capacity to store grit, and the actual operation of •th -e grit removal mechanism would be a very small fraction of the 24 -hour day. It is the recoanendation of the Village Engineer that this request, be authorized and referred to our consulting engineers for proper design anti a cost estimate. Word has been received from our consulting engineers that the extensive tests on the trickling filter media at the plant have been completel, and that our reports on these tests were submitted to the Village through our consulting engineers and are on file in the Village Office. The media was found to meet the specifications and is therefore acceptable to our consulting engineers and the governmental agencies that are helping finance the plant. • 0
