TO: Hon. Frederick G. Marcham, Mayor
Members of the Board of Trustees
Village of Cayuga Heights
SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for August 1974
The Police Department handled 74 complaints and investigated 9 motor
vehicle accidents. There were 74 traffic tickets and 19 parking tickets
issued during the month.
There were 3 residential burglaries reported during the month and Otte
male subject has been arrested for burglary and a television set recovered
as a result. There were 22 misdemeanor complaints during the month as
follows: 5 Petit Larceny, 6 Criminal Mischief, 4 Bad Checks, 4 Criminal
Trespass and 3 Aggravated Harassment.
Due to a charge in the school schedule and patterns of students walking
S to school, it has become necessary to increase the time that the school
crossing guard covers the inter section of Highland Road and Hanshaw Road.
Also, the crossing guard is required to drive about 12 miles a day to
cover the crossing and because of this and the time increase, I respectfully
requeslh that a resolution be passed raising Richard Melton's salary $200
per year, effective September 16, 1974.
The part -time officers worked a total of 173 hours during the month and
the full -time officers worked 37 hours overtime.
