Marcham, Mayor Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights SUBJECT: Report of the Police Chief for March and April 1974 March April Complaints Handled .......... 0 ....... 0...... 71 84 Motor Vehicle Accidents Investigated....... 13 5 Traffic Tickets Issued ..................... 55 58 Parking Tickets Issued, ........... o ........ 39 29 There were no felonies reported in March and 3 felonies reported in April, one of which was a burglary and two which were grand larcenies. There were 18 misdemeanor complaints in March and 19 misdemeanor complaints in April. During March there were two misdemeanor arrests made, one for Attempt to Commit a Crime of Criminal Trespass and the other for Driving While Intoxicated. During April, one felony arrest was made for Grand Larceny and one misdemeanor arrest for Bad Check. On April 6, 1974, the resignation of Sergeant Floyd L. Darling, Jr, became effective and Patrolman Larry S. Cooper was appointed provisional Sergeant iuntil such time as a civil service list is available for a permanent appointment to this position. The Police Benevolent Association has requested that I submit to the Board of Trustees their offer to purchase and install a flag pole and American flag in front of the Village Hall. The police officers would maintain the pole and flag and see that it was raised and lowered each day. The Police Chief has attended various meetings at the request of the Mayor which concern traffic planning in the area and also planned major events in the Ithaca area this summer. The part -time officers worked 45 hours in March and 172 hours in April. The full -time officers worked 13 hours overtime in March and 14 hours overtime in April.
