9 Report for April, 1974
The Fire Department responded to fourteen fire alarms during the
month of April.
On April 6th at 9 :20 P.M., the Fire Department responded to the
Hasbrouck Apts. laundromat for a washer fire. Damage was very minor.
Three pieces of equipment responded along with 21 firemen.
The Department responded to four alarms on April 14th. At 12:21 P.M.
a malicious false alarm was called in. The Address given was 301
Triphammer Road, which is a fictitious address. Two pieces of equipment
responded with 21 men. At. 1:57 P.M. the Department answered an alarm
at Mr. Donut at the Village Green. The cause was an overheated ballast.
Three pieces of equipment and 17 men responded. At 6 :55 P.M. the Fire
Department answered a call at 607 Hanshaw Road and at 7:10 P.M. they
went to the Village Hall at the Village Green. Both of these alarms
came in on the FlexelarmsSystem and were due to a severe thunderstorm.
Two pieces of equipment and 16 men responded to both alarms.
On April 15th the Fire Department responded again to 607 Hanshaw
Road for a malfunction on the Flexalarm System. Two pieces of equipment
responded with 9 men.
The Fire Department was called to 721 Hanshaw Road on April 17th
for a grass fire. Two pieces of equipment and 12 men responded.
• The Department responded to 812 Triphammer Road on April 18th at
7:17 P.M. for a stove fire. The stove was hea#likcda®agbd. Three
pieces of equipment and 18 men responded. Varna's Engine 1901 stood
by at the Cayuga Heights Fire Station during the alarm. At 10 :52 P.M?
CK April 18th, the Department responded to 312 Comstock Road. The floor
under a fireplace was set on fire. There was damage to the floor and
fireplace. Three pieces of equipment and 24 men responded.
On April 21st, the Department responded to Lansing East Apts. for
a pot that had been left on the stove unattended. Three pieces of
equipment and 22 men responded.
The Fire Department responded to another grass fire on April 21st
at 134 Muriel St. Two pieces of equipment and 23 men responded.
The Department responded to two car fires during the month. One
on April 25th was at 310 Triphammer Road. The car was totaly destroyed.
Two pieces of equipment and 8 men responded. The other car fire was
on April 36th on Route 13 in the north bound lane. There was damage
to the motor compartment and the dash area. Two pieces of eqiipment
and 15 men responded.
On April 25th the Department answered a cill at Pleasant Grove
Apts. for a washer fire. There was minor damage to the motor.
Three pieces of equipment and 10 men responded.
• The last word on the new ladder truck was the cbassia wcs enroute
to Pierce Mfg. They had it scheduled to start May 2nd and to be
completed June 12th.
Both of the bunkers will be leaving June 8th. We will be looking
for replacements.
The Fire Inspector, Eugene Dymek, has been working with Mr. Indelicato
at 316 Highland Road, Mr. Indelicato is planning an addition to the
building. Mr. Dymek wants Mr. Indelicato to provide a set of detail
drawings for review. The Building must comply with the Multiple
Residence Law. Mr. Dymek Will inspect the building before occupancy
to establish this fact.
