ANNUAL REPORT OF THE ZONING OFFICER
FEBRUARY 1974
JOHN B. ROGERS
During the past twelve months the number of zoning permits issued
increased two and half times over the previous twelve month period.
There were 10 zoning permits issued for construction of new houses in
the Village at an estimated cost of $431,600. There were also 25
zoning permits issued for alterations and additions to existing structures
for an estimated total cost of $368,575. In addition there were requests
for other zoning permits which were turned down and of these three cases
were brought before the Zoning Board of Appeals. One zoning permit was
issued for the erection of a sign under the new Village Sign Ordinance
that went into effect January 1973.
The Zoning Officer has had numerous calls from residents of the
Village concerning interpretation of the Zoning Laws and has made
on -sight inspections to explain interpretations of the Zoning Ordinance
and to bring about a correction of inadvertent zoning violations.
The most frequently raised question has to do with the division of
• existing building lots into two or more building lots.
