CAYUGA HEIGHTS FIRE DEPARTMENT
REPORT FOR DECEMBER 1972
The Department responded to 10 alarms of fire and 3 incidents during the
month. Alarms were: Buildings 2
Outdoor 1
False Alarm 1 (malicous)
False Alarm 3 (accidential or good intent)
Mutual Aid 3
Incidents were: Smoke scare 1
Emergency 2' (medical)
Fire loss was less than $100 for the month.
The fire council met with the Mayor, Treasurer and Trustees Fisher, Nelson
and Randolph to discuss the fire protection contract with the Town of Ithaca,
and the use of the Fire Department Equipment Fund.
At a later meeting the fire council approved the formula, as proposed by
the Treasurer, to be used in computation of the annual charges for the
contract. The council also formally approved a suggestion that for a period
of ten years up to $3,000 annually be transfered from the Fire Dept.
Equipment Fund and used to help defray costs of the recent building
program.
Based on the projection of income and expenditures from the Equipment Fund
for the next ten year period the council wishes to re- submit to the Board
of Trustees the council's proposal to purchase a ladder unit.
