HomeMy WebLinkAboutEngineer's Report Nov 19726 0 L VILLAGE OF CAYUGP HEIGHTS REPORT OF THE E1101INEER NOVEMBER 1972 FLOOD DAMAGE All flood damage work has been completed except replacement of Juniper bushes at the Village Sewage Treatment Plant and grading at the Sewage Treatment Plant and the completion of the culvert on North Sunset Drive. The replacement steel culvert under North Sunset is in place, all seams have been welded and about one -half of the backfill has been replaced. Footings for the headwall have been poured and form work for the headwalls is in process. It is estimated that the work should be completed within a month. LEAF COLLECTION Excessive amount of rainy weather has delayed some collection of leaves but it is expected that all leaves put out for collection will be picked up by November 20. It will then be possible to keep up with the leaves that are put out for collection. DISEASED EU4 WOOD The Village men continue to pick up diseased elm wood when they can fit it into their schedule. With the excessive amount of rainy weather this fall the contractor who was scheduled by contract to have finished the removal of some 50 trees has fallen behind schedule but I am assured by him that they will be completed by November 20. SEWER LINES The leak and partial blockage has been discovered in the sewer line on Sunset Drive. Tests will be made to try to isolate the break, then it will be repaired, or if the entire line is in bad condition it will be replaced from the corner of Corson Place to the north end of Sunset Drive. SEWER PLANT Alterations and Additions, Phase II have been put out for bid. Copies of plans and specifications have been received from Teetor - Dobbins and are being forwarded to perspective bidders at their request and expense. Further discussion of the right of way for staging area over Liberman's right of way have been carried out with the Village Attorney in preparation for condemnation proceedings. Any additions or addenda to the Plans and Specifications must be in the hands of Teetor - Dobbins no later than November 24 so that they can be forwarded to the contractors for bidding purposes. J.
