Giordano Construction Company was called in and has completed the replacement of insulation, lathe and plaster in the ceiling of the Judge's Chamber which completes the problem of removal of bees from the Village Hall. Giordano also repaired the flashing and plugged all exterior holes with mortar where bees might again gain access. MOWING The mowing of street sides and empty lots that were not mowed by residents has been completed and residents will be billed for the time spent by Village men and the Village mower to do private lots. ELM WOOD REMOVAL General Arborists were notified of the award of contract to remove diseased elm trees on Village road right of ways and other Village property. Other trees on the road right of way which can be handled by the Village work force have been removed. Our men have also been working on the removal of elm wood cut from private property and placed by the road side for our removal. Although some work is done on this elm wood removal each week there seems to be a continual supply appearing at the road side. • WATER The Engineer has attended many meetings during the past month with the Town of Ithaca, Town of Lansing, Town of Dryden and at times with the City of Ithaca official in an effort to help the Village Mayor gain cooperation in solving the area's water problems. SEWER PLANT The Engineer appeared at the hearings and on the witness stand on the condem- nation hearings to establish value of the condemned Liberman land which was acquired by the Village for expansion of the Village plant. The valuation placed on the property by the Village appraisers and by the Liberman appraisers are far apart. A board of three commissioners heard testimony on each side and it will be up to them to reach a decision as to a fair market value. A letter of objection was received by Mr. Sepos who owns property south of Liberman on the Lake shore. His objection was to the laying of a second outfall pipe into the lake. At the request of the State authorities controlling the issuance of permits for laying such a pipe in the lake, the Village is arranging a meeting %rith Mr. Sepos to explain the design of the new treatment plant and the need for a second outfall pipe.
